Name website images correctly
Naming images correctly makes them easier to find when searching within your library. Secondly, optimising content for SEO is important for rankings. User-friendly image filenames help Google understand the visual aspect of your content, making search more expansive.
The filename should be descriptive, include applicable keywords and use hyphens instead of spaces to separate words. Keep your filenames to under six words.
For good SEO, images should be named in the following way:
- Rename all images names using the guide below
- Do not use images with random (camera-generated) naming
- Do not use commas, capitals or apostrophes
- Replace spaces with hyphens
