Project Description
The redesign of Young’s Auctioneers website was a really exciting project to work on. The original site had not been updated for a few years and wasn’t of any benefit to the business. When I met Jane Young and every else in the company I got a good feel for how they operated which was in a friendly and helpful manner. Their business is all about the customer. People coming to them have to put a lot of trust in them. They in turn understand this and try to make dealing with property as hassle free as possible.
This is what I wanted to reflect in the website. I added in some small but helpful features to the site.
Directions App: Every property page has a map of the property BUT also has a box which you can enter your address into and it will give you step by step directions to that property. You can see an ETA of the time to get there, print a map with directions and more. This is a great way to help you see how long it would take you to get home from work everyday if you lived there, how long to collect the kids, or go shopping, etc.
Property Listing System: Young’s like 99.999999% of property agents in this country use Daft.ie. They wanted to have all their current properties on the website but didn’t want to have to do the process of adding a listing once on Daft and once on Youngs.ie. The Property Listing System takes all the listings for Young’s directly from daft.ie and displays them on youngs.ie but with a nicer layout and great features like the directions app.
