OFI-Pad 2011

OF I-Pad is Owen Fitzpatrick’s blog section on owenfitzpatrick.com. The blog is a huge part of the site and has a lot of visitors and comments everyday. Since the blog is such an integral part of the site a lot of time went into planning the redesign for the OF I-Pad.

The Solution

A Unique Look & Feel

I created a design in which the site would look like it was inside a tablet or iPad. You can even click the button on the bottom of the device and it will take you to the home page. The design also uses some CSS3 media-queries which make the tablet container change and adapt to the size of the users screen. The site has also been optimised for iPad, iPhone & mobile devices. The tablet container will not show up on iPads, etc as it would look strange seeing an iPad inside an iPad.

Content Management System

The site is built on WordPress which is brilliant as a CMS. I expanded on the regular WordPress system and added in custom content areas. I also removed or hid areas and settings which would not be of use to make the system very straight forward and easy to use.
