BizList.ie is a Dublin based online directory.
Specific Areas
The site currently covers the Dublin area but will expand to further counties as it grows. The aim is provide a list of relevant businesses to peoples searches. When someone visits a directory website they are normally looking for a specific service or business in a general area. This is the reason why we have begun with only Dublin. If I visit a directory service looking for a taxi company, an electrician, accountant, etc I don’t need to see results that are on the other side of the country.
Future Proof
The site is built on HTML5 which makes it future proof and should aid boosting search engine rankings down the road. The home page gives visitors 2 ways to search.
- Categories. A list of categories and sub categories helps you find the exact type of business you want.
- Map. A map of Dublin complete with icons representing each business. You can zoom to your area, view the business and click on the one you want to be taken straight to their business profile page.
Listing Options
Currently there are 2 main listing options for businesses. Free & Premier.
The Free option gives a business:
- contact phone number
- address
- map with directions
- a short description about the business or services
- special offer box
The Premier option has all the above but also has:
- links to their website, Twitter, Facebook
- an enquiry form for people to contact the business instantly
- a slideshow
- appearing above free listings
- x3 times as much text in the business description
