I have just finished the new web design project for DC Print. DC Print are a printing company based in Tallaght, Dublin 24. They provide quality printing at affordable prices. I have worked closely with DC Print on a number of projects. They are great to work with and always deliver what they promise.
The original site was nothing more than an online flyer for the front page. DC Print gave me full design control over the project which was great as I had free rein to do what I wanted for the new web design. But also added pressure because if it didn’t look right it would be totally my fault.
The first thing we needed was to show off the great design work and competitive prices provided. I created a sliding banner on the home page which showcases previous work and shows current special offers available. The banner is constantly expanding with more special offers and pictures of previous work.
The one issue the company had was people ringing them to get directions. They are in a slightly hard to find location so this was a constant issue and involved someone talking people through the directions which of course everyone knows can take a long time. This time cuts into the working day and holds up the phones too.
I created a simple contact page for the site. It contained a contact form, phones numbers and also a small map which expands when clicked on. There is also a really helpful Route Planner button at the top of the page. You simply enter your current address and click OK. It then gives you a step by step set of directions right to the DC Print front door. you can print these directions out complete with maps and roads to take. Now they simply direct people to the Contact page with the route planner.
